PROPside.com · A personal farewell

Every journey has an end.

Thank you for being part of ours.

A passion that became an extraordinary journey

Some objects are much more than just objects. They are fragments of a story, memories of a film that made us dream, a character who stayed with us, or a scene that we still remember as vividly as the first day, even many years later.

More than twenty years ago, my personal journey as a collector of original film and television props began. What started as a passion for preserving small pieces of cinema history eventually became a project far bigger than I could ever have imagined.

That is how PROPside.com was born, with a clear idea: to bring authentic pieces from film and television productions closer to fellow fans and collectors. A pioneering initiative in Spain that aimed to do more than sell objects: it wanted to connect people with the stories behind them.

ExpoSyfy: sharing the magic with thousands

One of the most special parts of this journey was ExpoSyfy, the travelling exhibition that, together with Syfy, the NBCUniversal channel, brought a selection of more than 200 original pieces to cities across Spain for years.

Seeing children, adults, fans and collectors come face to face with objects they had previously only seen on screen is one of those memories I will always cherish.

Because, in the end, that is what makes this world so special: nostalgia, the excitement of discovery, and that almost magical feeling of standing in front of a small piece of a story that has become part of our lives.

Over its five-year journey, ExpoSyfy visited 12 cities and welcomed more than 25,000 visitors, sharing the magic of cinema with thousands of people. It took us much further than we had ever imagined, and it seemed there was still a long road ahead. Then the pandemic arrived, and with it a pause that ultimately became a farewell.

From collector to creator

This journey also gave me the opportunity to meet and share experiences with true special-effects legends, such as Rick Baker, a seven-time Academy Award winner, and Tom Savini, an undisputed master of makeup and practical effects. And, almost as if everything had fallen into place, my other great passion, 3D printing, became a bridge between collecting and creating: a way to bring new ideas to life, reproduce impossible details, and keep exploring the boundary between imagination and the tangible. In the end, all these sides of my life come from the same passion for creating, discovering and sharing.

Taking this step to the other side of the screen and helping create pieces for audiovisual productions allowed me to work on projects including the music video “Moonlight Rendez-Vous” by Beast in Black and the upcoming science-fiction film A.M.I., starring Mads Mikkelsen and Diane Kruger.

A different way of experiencing cinema, yet born from exactly the same fascination with what makes its magic possible: objects that cross the screen and, thanks to collecting, can eventually find their way into our hands, bringing us a little closer to the stories that made us dream.

The time to say goodbye

Today, however, the time has come to close this chapter.

For personal reasons, PROPside.com must say goodbye. It is not an easy decision after so many years of dedication, hard work, excitement and, above all, a passion that has always gone far beyond the purely commercial side of things.

I will take with me the people I have met, the stories I have been able to share, and the satisfaction of having helped, however modestly, preserve and bring pieces of cinema history closer to people who value them as much as I do.

To all the customers, collectors, collaborators and friends who have trusted PROPside over the years: thank you, from the bottom of my heart. Thank you for joining me, for sharing this passion, and for making this entire journey worthwhile.

Even when this door closes, the stories do not end here.

Every piece that finds a new home will continue to tell its story, become part of another collection, and spark new emotions in those who admire it.

And perhaps that is the best way to say goodbye.

Before we say goodbye…

There are still a few pieces available in our store. If there has always been an object that made you dream, or if you simply want to take home one last memento of this adventure, I invite you to browse the remaining stock.
